Do you hear what I'm saying
Or just listen to words?
Do you understand the meaning
Or is that just absurd?
Do you look for solutions
When problems don't exist
Did no-one yet tell you
That's rather remiss.
Start spending some time
On opening your ears
If you don't try to listen
You'll realise your fears.
Be grateful for hearing
It's a privilege, not a right
Remember its importance
Is equal to sight
Listen to others
And hear what they say
Consider how you'd feel
If you lost it one day.
Words can be special
So don't be a clot
If you don't start to listen
You'll miss out on a lot.
